Pastor Dayrle Nichols

Daryle Nichols grew up in Woodstock, Alabama, in a Christian home and received Jesus Christ at the age of 7. He graduated from West Blocton High School in 1982 and married his high school sweetheart, Lisa, in 1983. They have two children, Kyle and LeSha’, and four grandchildren. Over the years they have enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and cheering for Alabama football together.

Daryle has over 26 years of pastoral experience, beginning in 1992 at Indian Grave Baptist Church in Billingsley, Alabama, and continuing at Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Jackson, Alabama, Concord Baptist Church in Calera, Alabama, and Dwight Baptist Church in Gadsden, Alabama.

In 2017, after transitioning out of vocational ministry, Daryle became self-employed, but still had opportunities to supply preach, which reignited his passion for ministry. In June 2025, he became the interim pastor at Union Congregational Christian Church, and in February 2026, the church called him as their pastor.

Daryle’s philosophy of ministry centers on God’s purpose for all people: to glorify God in whatever they do (Isaiah 43:7; 1 Corinthians 10:31). He believes the church’s mission is grounded in the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and (Matthew 28:18-20), that everything the church does should flow from the five functions of the church: Worship, Evangelism, Discipleship, Ministry, and Fellowship.

Daryle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (1988) and a Master of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University (1996). His ministry is guided by Acts 20:24, which speaks of finishing the course with joy and testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.
